Doom 3 can be CPU limited when the graphics card is working faster than the system can deliver information for it to render. For the purpose of this article, the cards are less powerful than the system, and we can see the clear results at each of the settings. The scores are capped at 1024x768 with antialiasing disabled, but from there on we can see that the Foxconn 8800GTS 320 card can deliver 60 more frames each second than the EVGA 8600GTS at 1280x1024. That is a third more performance. Even with antialiasing set to 4x the 60 fps gap remains, meaning that the Foxconn 8800GTS doubles the performance.
