It's also worth noting that these two processors aren't direct competitors. Examples of the GeForce 6600 GT such as the MSI NX6600GT boards tested here can be had for as little as $90, whereas the Asus Radeon X1600 XT retails at around $170. Likewise, with a slightly stingy 128 MB of video memory compared to the Radeon X1600's fulsome 256 MB buffer, the GeForce 6600 GT is at a clear disadvantage. As ever, you pay your money and you take your choice. But we'd strongly recommend you avoid both of these processors at any price if Oblivion performance is important to you.
