Fall Extreme Gamer System Shootout Part 3: Alienware's ALX

Background

The word "aliens," conjures up the theme of the U.S. blockbuster T.V. series the X-Files or visions of little green men in the minds of many. When it comes to gaming and extra terrestrials, "the truth is out there," but it comes in the form of Alienware. Established in 1996 in Miami, Florida, Alienware has grown to be recognized for their professionally built high-end systems. In the past few years they have expanded their product lines to now include laptops, small-form-factor and desktop systems. Currently, they even have moved into building liquid-cooled systems with their ALX line of gaming systems.

When you are looking for the highest performance from gaming systems today, you are certainly going to look towards a dual graphics solution. Nothing is faster or more powerful setup available in a single video card. Additionally, you possibility might look for liquid-cooling in a premium gaming system. Air-cooling can get you to a point, but if you are going to shell out many thousands of dollars for a new system, why not regulate your temperatures better under the most stressful conditions using liquid-cooling? That being said, we asked Alienware to send us their liquid-cooled solution called the ALX.
