iBuypower's $5,500 Ultra Gaming System

Oblivion

The introduction of DX10 hardware from Nvidia and ATI/AMD has made it possible to turn up the settings in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and still be able to play the game at enjoyable frame rates. The outdoor scene is still limited by the graphics card, but is very much "playable" on all of the systems. The iBuyPower is limited in that while the average frame rate at 2048x1536 is 31.43 fps, the minimum was 21 fps, making the game feel choppy in certain instances. All of the systems have no issues indoors, as the view distances and amount of overall rendering is drastically reduced compared to that of the outdoor scene. The graphics cards are looking for more from the system, so the overclocked systems deliver 15-25% more frames per second.
