RAID Access Time

We displayed the access time results in microseconds, since the SSD's access time is quick enough to change the scale. The LSI controller required the longest time for data access in all three RAID modes, but we’re still looking at only .25 to .36 ms access times. AMD’s SB750 turns out to offer the best read access time on the X25-E SSDs, with only .11 to .13 ms.

Write access time looks different. Intel shines here, followed by Nvidia or AMD, depending on the RAID mode. It’s interesting to see the LSI controller delivering so much quicker write access times, as it is capable of storing data into its integrated cache memory with minimal delay.
