SuperTalent Introduces DuraDrive ZT3 SSDs

Manufacturer Super Talent has announced a new series of SSDs. This new series, which shall be known as the DuraDrive ZT3 series, are intended to cater to customers who require drives that can withstand tougher environments than 'standard drives.'

The drives will come in the 1.8" form factor and feature capacities ranging all the way from 16 GB to 256 GB. Flash types include both MLC and SLC flash, either for a lower price or higher reliability.

The SSDs are said to be ideal for use in the aerospace industry, as well as the medical, industrial, or enterprise uses.

Sadly, there was no word on when the units would be available, nor was there any information on pricing.

Could it go into cars so we can finally have $200,000 high end BMWs with hard drives bigger than 40GB?
