Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus octa-core CPU benchmarks leaked — decent CPU prowess but terrible GPU performance compared to 10-core variant

Qualcomm plans to release a budget Snapdragon X Plus chip with the X1P-42-100. This would be the most affordable SoC in its lineup and is designed for the $700-dollar Windows on Arm PCs arriving next year. These Snapdragon X PCs are built for budget customers who want to try the AI experience but do not necessarily need high-performance computing. Wccftech has gathered multiple benchmark test results of the Asus ProArt PZ13, which features Qualcomm’s most affordable chip, and the results were generally mixed.

The 8-core X1P-42-100 only fell back by around 5% in Cinebench single-core tests versus its 10-core X1P-64-100 sibling, but its multi-core performance dropped by 20%, probably because it has 20% fewer cores.

$700 is what the X elite should have launched at.
$700 for a cut down version, and what surmounts to an i5/R5 is just insulting

Qualcomm definitely has pricing issues, but that was to be expected given how they've done everything until this point. I do think they've got compelling products, but not enough performance/efficiency to blow Intel/AMD out od the water given the price. I hope the next iteration has multiple die so they can diversify a bit more.

For a device people will likely keep for 4+ years and their primary device, such as a student, would you -really- recommend people save $200 and compromise that much?

Qualcomm already charges vendors less for their chips than a "comparable" intel or AMD based device.
