RAID 6 I/O Performance
RAID 6 setups provide significantly less I/O performance than comparable RAID 5 arrays, and they don’t scale all that well, either. The only I/O benchmark that still scales well is the Web server run, because it does not involve write operations that involve calculating double parity.
