Sneak Preview: Intel Alderwood/Grantsdale Chipsets
BTX, MicroBTX, PicoBTX
The BTX Specification 1.0 provides for three sizes: BTX, MicroBTX and PicoBTX - the latter is clearly Intel's answer to VIA's MiniITX platforms, which have become popular. The widths of these three BTX boards are 325 mm for BTX, 264 mm for MicroBTX, and 203 mm for PicoBTX. While a full-size BTX is meant for conventional desktop systems and MicroBTX for compact PCs, PicoBTX is aimed at compact entertainment systems, solutions for mobile systems in automobiles and compact industrial solutions.
