Conclusions
Some of you might ask why THG is upgrading from a terribly outdated computer to a middle-of-the-road system. Simple, people are using old technology to play games. I met three people, for example, out of the hundred or so at the summer CPL (Cyberathlete Professional League) who were still using Ti4200, Ti4400 and Ti4800 graphics cards. This is the World Series of computer gaming and they were using plastic bats in pro games. Some of these guys have really tight budgets because they are still in high school and have to scrape together enough cash for plane tickets to Dallas.
I asked them what they sought in an upgrade. A few were looking at the new 7800 GTX while others were considering the X850 XT PE from Ati. I asked them about SLI and they said it was out of their price range. I also asked them where they got their info, and they said THG. (I don't know if they were just being cordial).

Keep in mind that upgrading your PC is just as easy as it was years ago. There are many solutions on the market to fit your ever desire and at almost every price point. You can go with the value RAM or the high end or the ATI or NVIDIA solution. The decision is up to you. What you want to do with your system is really only a question of how much you want to spend.
