WD Brings 250 GB HDDs to Notebooks
Fujitsu MHW2080BH (80 GB, SATA)
The MHW2 BH series is Fujitsu's mainstream drive, which has a speed of 5,400 RPM, offers an 8 MB buffer and utilizes perpendicular recording technology. The optional versions at 40 and 60 GB also use one platter, whereas the 100, 120 and 160 GB models are based on two platters. The drive's idle power of 0.7 W is close to Fujitsu's specification of 0.6 W on its Website. The average access time of 17.4 ms puts it right in the middle of the 5,400 RPM segment. At an almost 50 MB/s transfer rate, this is one of the fastest 5,400 RPM 2.5" hard drives. If you need more sequential read performance, you'll have to invest in a 7,200-RPM drive. Overall, I'd say this is one of the best mainstream hard drives you can get.
