The P1 is only a deal at well under $100/TB (less than $95 at max)
It's a competitor to the Intel 660p, with QLC write speeds dropping to spinning rust speeds after cache exhaustion.

Right now, you can get a true competitor to the Samsung 970 Evo Plus, for $120.
The Adata SX 8200 Pro is $119.99 for a 1TB on a few sites, and is in a whole different, top tier, class of performance, with TLC NAND as it's fallback after SLC cache exhaustion.
