Modding The Xbox Into The Ultimate Multimedia Center

Web Server For Remotely Controlling The PC

While the FTP function makes perfect sense, it is unclear why the Xbox should need a Web server. In fact, all main XBMC functions can be remotely controlled on any network computer from a browser.

Time synchronization is specified in the XBMC configuration file. A functioning Internet gateway is also required, which could be a Windows PC with Internet sharing protocols activated or with a router.

All the important Xbox functions can be easily performed remotely with the browser. If the Xbox is on a network, music playback, for example, can be controlled from a notebook over a Wireless LAN.
