Gelid Releases GX-7 Rev.2 CPU Cooler
Gelid has updated its GX-7 CPU cooler and released the GX-7 Rev.2.
Gelid has released a new CPU cooler that is a revision of an older version, the Gelid GX-7 Rev.2.
The unit has a 120 mm fan that is thinner than that of the previous version to create more memory module clearance. The fan has blue LED lighting, is PWM controlled, and can rotate at speeds between 780 RPM and 1800 RPM. The cooling block measures 130 by 650 by 159 mm and weighs 720 grams including the fan. The block itself is a large array of aluminum fins, to which the heat is fed through seven heat pipes. The unit will also work on practically all modern CPU sockets, although for the 2011 socket a separate mounting socket must be purchased.
The Gelid GX-7 Rev.2 will come with a three year manufacturer warranty, and has already hit shelves for an MSRP of $65, or €45.
Does it allow one to install a 2nd fan if desired?
Ian.
@mapesdhs, judging by the top of the HSF, the other side has a similar indentation for clips for a 2nd fan.
Gelid doesn't do red. their trademark clear blue/green (gamer series) and solid white(silent series) is what they do. they also have a single black fan, which was only used on "the black edition" gelid cooler and a few low profile ones
