BIWIN Announced Half-length H6201 Embedded SSD

BIWIN has introduced a new SSD, the H6201. This SSD series is based on half-length SSDs, so while they appear to be normal 2.5" drives from one point of view, when viewed from atop they are suddenly half the length.

While few technical details were given about the SSDs' performance, we do know that the drives will be based on the SATA 3 Gb/s interface, have an MTBF of two million hours, and consume no more than 0.97 W under full load. The drives will also come in capacities ranging from just 4 GB up to 128 GB -- ideal for certain industrial applications that don't have high storage space requirements but still require durability and responsive storage.

Sadly, BIWIN gave no word on when the SSDs would be coming to the market or whether they would be available through retail consumer channels. There was also no word on pricing.

From what I see, it seems to be a 2.5" (width) (normal) SATA SSD that's only half as long as the ones we usually see...
