Power supply with shell: Protection for the heat sink
Epower Technologies also provided us with a power supply that, like the Greenerger unit, includes a fan that is normally turned off, but which kicks in when power demands peak. What makes the Lion 450 unique is that its design uses a big metal cage to protect a large heat sink. The usage instructions include warnings not to touch the cage to avoid being burned - we learned how important this advice is the hard way.
The switch also controls manual fan activation. The big heat sink in its cage is visible to the right.
On the back side of the device you'll find a switch to force the fan to run all the time, even when it's not strictly needed. A blue LED indicates when the fan is running.
It's important to keep your cables organized and orderly, or they're likely to work themselves loose.
