Memory Settings
The following screenshots list all of the memory speeds and timings we used for this analysis. All of these RAM settings could be selected without modifying the processor speed via multiplier ratios, so the benchmark differences purely relate to the various memory configurations. We started with DDR3-800 and quick timings, but did not benchmark relaxed timings at this speed, since even low-cost memory supports relatively quick timings. Then we went on to DDR3-1066 speed and tested CL6-6-6-18 and CL8-8-8-22. At DDR3-1333 the timings were CL7-7-7-20 and CL10-10-10-26. Finally, we also tested at DDR3-1600 speed and CL9-9-9-24 and CL10-10-10-30.
