Benchmark Results: Grand Theft Auto IV
Grand Theft Auto IV remains a clunky console port, even after the recent patch three update. And while it demonstrates a severe bottleneck that keeps it from exceeding the 60-ish frame per second mark (yes, this is with vsync off and the –novblank switch enabled), we see that 512 MB of frame buffer is insufficient to even load up our benchmark settings (using the –norestrictions switch).
With that said, it doesn’t really matter what graphics card you’re using, unless you want to play at 2560x1600, where the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and GeForce GTX 285 serve up nice speed increases.
