The screen resolution of 640x480 may not be used by anyone anymore, but it is still the best way to compare processor or platform performance, because it eliminates the graphics as the performance bottleneck. Intel's i850 chipset is clearly scoring better than VIA's P4X266.
The story isn't any different under Windows 2000. i850 beats P4X266 with a margin of about 5 - 8%.
