Scythe Reveals the Kaze Chrono Fan Controller

The Scythe Kaze Chrono fan controller is designed for 5.25-inch drive bays and features a brick-matrix LCD panel.

Scythe has unveiled the Kave Chrono (KM-07-BK), a fan controller designed for 5.25-inch drive bays that measures 148.5 x 83 x 42 mm and features a large brick-matrix LCD panel that can display temperatures, fan speeds and detect a stopped or failing fan.

The controller draws power from a single 4-pin Berg connector and features four 3-pin fan headers that allow speed adjustment of up to four independent fan channels.

The Scythe Kaze Chrono is expected to be released in July in Japan with an expected price of ¥ 3,980 (US $40).

    Well there is 6 channel controllers but with only 30watts per channel. As for needing 60watts I thought most computer fans where under well under 30watts.

    My Ulta Kaze's pull 7 watts each and can be heard across the house at full speed. Why would you even want fans over 30 watts?

    Most fans are under 1 watt, let alone 7, so unless you have an ungodly number of fans in your case, 30W/channel should be more than adequate. I could see 60W/channel if you want to put lights or big pumps on a channel...

    Either way it would be nice to get more/cheaper 6-channel controllers. I have seen a number of power supplies recently that did still have the floppy connector, so I guess it can finally get some use again. The design though just doesn't strike me as all that eye catching.

    Water cooling is a different story when it comes to fan controllers especially for push pull where one rad can have up to 8 fans!
