We were pleased to see Restrospect Express bundled with the Mini Pod M9-DX, both for Windows and Mac OS. This is a versatile backup suite that also allows for scheduling. The device allows daily or weekly backups to be made, and you can also create a disaster recovery CD disc, which is bootable and will execute the recovery software to access the Mini Pod in order to restore a previous backup.
However, we could not use the backup set to clone an entire operating system. We wanted to duplicate a Windows Server 2003 installation by backing up the entire system partition, and then restore it to another machine. However, the software kept prompting for a different software key.
