GeForce3 Under Attack: ATi's Radeon 8500 Previewed
3D Mark 2001, Continued
In terms of texel fill rate (important for multi-texturing) GeForce3 is utterly unable to beat Radeon 8500. The same is valid for Radeon 7500 and GeForce2 Pro. The new ATi cards can apply more texels per cycle per pipeline than their NVIDIA-counterparts.
This chart shows another strength of Radeon 8500. Its triangle rate is much higher than GeForce3's. The T&L-unit of Radeon 8500 beats GeForce3 to the punch. Only Radeon 7500 doesn't look too good here.
