Preview of 3Dfx Voodoo Banshee, S3 Savage3D and NVIDIA RIVA TNT
2D Performance
Business Winstone 98 under Windows 95, at 1024x768, 16 bit color, 85 Hz vertical refresh, Pentium II system as above.
Although NVIDIA's RIVA TNT has a little edge here, we want to be honest and admit that all of the new graphic chips are pretty much as fast as it goes in 2D. Making differences here seems like counting beans to me. There's also no point in running synthetically 2D benchmarks when in the end the real world result as shown by Winstone 98 does hardly make any difference. All chips are fast, TNT seems to be particularly fast in 2D.
