Metamorphosis from Springdale to Canterwood

Differences Between Press Samples And End User Versions

As we've mentioned already, differences in construction do not necessarily lead to lesser performance. It's typical for many manufacturers to leave out components for mass production to cut costs, as long as this does not have a negative effect on performance.

Significant deviations are found with the CPU socket : the capacitors CT83 and CT84 (for 2 Volt with 100µF) next to the socket are missing, as is the CT68 within the socket.

A view of the press sample, which is fitted with extra capacitors.

This view of the CPU socket of an end-user board that we purchased shows that the capacitors are missing.
