Shuttle Enters Monitor World with XP17 LCD

Rugged

Shuttle designed its monitor for a very specific clientele: Semi-nomadic users, and in particular LAN party enthusiasts. So Shuttle has put the emphasis on sturdiness and portability.

The aluminum tube that surrounds the monitor serves as a handle and protects the panel at all four corners. The glass bezel covering the entire front of the monitor proves to be highly resistant to scratches. No buttons show up on the surface - they're all placed under the monitor. The tripod that's used to adjust the tilt is also an aluminum tube. Stability for the unit is provided by four rubber feet on the tubes. The quality of the materials is exceptional, and Shuttle has put as much care into the design as into the workmanship. One example is the joint in the monitor's aluminum frame, which is located under the anti-slip feet.

For those who would like additional protection for their monitor, Shuttle sells an optional carrying case. This option already existed for Shuttle's barebones. Finally, the XP17 is also available in gray for those who find black a little too gloomy.
