How We Source Coupon Codes and How To Use Them

We have a number of coupon pages on Tom’s Hardware, each dedicated to a specific brand. You’ll find pages for several market-leading names, with codes covering audio equipment, PC cases & components, computing peripherals, software, video games and more. Our commercial team finds the latest sales information and negotiates exclusive codes with our partner brands so each page includes the most recent ways to get better prices on online orders. On this page, you can read more about how Tom’s Hardware coupons work, including where we find codes, how to apply one to your order, and how to get help if your code doesn’t work as expected.

How we source coupon codes

All coupon codes listed on Tom’s Hardware are sourced by a dedicated coupons team who find new codes through our links with retailers, our affiliate networks, and by searching the internet. Each page is checked and refreshed twice a week, with new codes added whenever we find them. Our connections with brands mean our commercial team can negotiate exclusive codes and get insider information on sales and promotions, which we also add to our pages to keep them fresh.

How to use a coupon code

Start by choosing a coupon you’d like to redeem, then click the green button underneath the text - this will either read  “Get Discount” or “Get Code”. Once you’ve clicked this button, a pop-up box will open. The next steps depend on which kind of offer you are using.

If the button says “Get Code”, the pop-up will include a unique coupon code that you’ll need to copy to your clipboard. This can then be pasted into the corresponding promotional code box at the checkout when you place your order. If the button says “Get Discount”, the message will instead read “No code needed”, and your discount will already be applied.

Clicking either type of button will also open the retailer’s website in a new tab. You can start shopping here, adding items to your cart until you’re happy to place an order. As you shop, make sure to consider any conditions of your coupon, such as minimum spends, product-specific discounts, or multibuy offers, so that you meet the requirements of your chosen discount.

Once you are ready to place an order, proceed to the checkout where you should see any applied discounts. If you copied a code to your clipboard, you will now need to use this. Look for a promotional code field to paste the code into and click “Apply” to add your discount. If the pop-up box read “No code needed”, your discount should already be applied.

Where you’ll find the promotional code field will vary from retailer site to retailer site, but it tends to be accessible before you enter any payment details. This box can be a text box or clickable field - either way, make sure to apply your code once it has been pasted in and check that your order total has changed before you proceed with payment.

How we test coupon codes

Every coupon code listed on Tom’s Hardware has been checked by our deals team to ensure that they work as intended. We include the best codes that are currently available, which range from free shipping offers to discounts on devices and services. Each coupon is tested to ensure it's accurate and will deliver the savings you expect. For that reason, you won't find any one-time use or user-specific coupons on Tom's Hardware.

What to do if a coupon code doesn’t work

Although our coupons team verifies each code before uploading, and we do not feature any one-time use or user-specific coupons on our pages, sometimes a code may still not work as intended. In this case, your first port of call should be the terms & conditions listed below the code button.

Click the terms & conditions text to open an expandable area, where you’ll see all applicable requirements associated with that particular offer. You may need to buy multiple items (i.e. 3 for 2), meet a minimum order value (i.e. spend $40 or more), or ensure you are only buying a specific kind of product (i.e. 5% off SSDs) for your discount to be applied. Double-check that your order meets these requirements and make any necessary changes to your order accordingly.

If your code still isn’t accepted, the terms and conditions or expiry date may have been changed before our team has been able to update the page. Although we take great care to make sure this doesn’t happen, if it does, you can email our team at coupons.tomshardware@futurenet.com. Include as many details of your issue as possible to help us solve the problem as quickly as possible. Let us know which code you used and which page you found it on, and we’ll get back in touch as soon as we can.
