MIT's US$100-laptop project to be key for AMD share growth in 2006
Advanced Micro Devices' (AMD) worldwide market share of the CPU market could top 20% in 2006 if the $100-laptop project launched by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab does well in emerging markets, market sources suggested.
A Newswatch article quoted the Chinese-language Commercial Times as saying that the $100 notebooks will adopt the Geode CPU series from AMD.
