Flask XMPEG 4.2a: The Latest Top-Seller Among Tools
Tom's Hardware ran a high-stress test in the last benchmark discipline. We wanted to know whether it was possible to encode in real-time when simultaneously converting MPEG-2 video to MPEG-4 and Dolby Digital Sound to MP3. We have differentiated between dual-channel Dolby Digital and 5-channel Dolby Digital, and we've also provided the results without any audio signals. In this benchmark we used the latest and hottest tool, the user-friendly Flask XMPEG 4.2a. Despite its popularity, Tom's Hardware believes that the programmers still have a few small bugs to remove.
Phenomenal results! Even in the toughest discipline, converting 5-channel Dolby Digital Sound and MPEG-2 simultaneously, the Pentium 4/2000 breaks the real-time barrier. Nonetheless, the Athlon XP 1900+ and the 2000+ (due to be released soon) come in only a nose behind the Pentium 4. Athlon XP owners can therefore also benefit from the progress made.
