Spatial Uniformity
The X-Black technology does nothing to increase spatial uniformity. The monitor even tested below average, with values spread over more than 25%. The monitor was symmetrical vertically, however. The left/right asymmetry shouldn't cause any problem.
Not Such Good Responses
Sony claims a 16 ms response time for this monitor. Here's what we measured:
The monitor was clearly less responsive than the Hydis 20 ms panel, meaning that the move to the new version of the AU Optronics panel has made no difference. 16 ms was attained only for extreme transitions.
