WD has the quickest access time, although the results of prior generations are unmatched. The Samsung drive disappointed, as 17.6 ms average access time can also be reached by 5,400 RPM drives. You might believe that Samsung would consume less power than the other drives, but that’s not the case either.
This benchmark is only relevant to determining the maximum throughput the drive can deliver when data is read or written using the built-in 16 MB cache memory. The numbers are of little relevance in everyday life.
