The HP PSC 2210 takes first place - for one, because of its scan quality; it produces vivid and high contrast images. Its simple handling is yet another plus. For example, it takes just a push of a button for the PSC 2210 to scan a document directly into an e-mail. What's more, the four integrated media slots (for MS, CF, SM and SD) make it possible to read in and print data without a PC. It can be connected to a PC or MAC via a USB 2.0 Full Speed port.
The integrated DeskJet 5550 printing unit uses PhotoREt IV technology and delivers good print quality. Color rendering is excellent. In terms of printing costs, this peripheral joins the crowd: be prepared to dish out 8 cents per black and white page and some 7.7 cents per color page. The keys located on the edge of the case are clearly arranged in a small control panel.
The neither extremely noisy nor quiet HP PSC 2210 costs $299.99 and is great for ambitious digital photographers and users in small and medium-sized offices, thanks to its good connections. It gets the gold for its combined high print and scan quality.
