Unfortunately, the success stories end with the Gigabyte board with VIA chipset: seven memory types only worked with the current BIOS version as DDR333. When asked, Gigabyte sent us Beta BIOS after a few days, which produced a partial improvement. However, Gigabyte has still not made this available to end users on its Website - so the user will not benefit at all.
The manufacturer justifies its decision by saying that it wants to adhere to AMD's specification. Of course, it has every right to take this stance, but other manufacturers adopt a more positive, customer-friendly approach.
