Today's launch of the Nvidia GeForce 8 series marks the advent of next-generation graphics. What can we expect from graphics makers with respect to DirectX 10 hardware?

A tale of Direct X 10, and rumors of the hardware to drive it. While the demand for Direct X 9 hardware is not slipping, and more graphics cards are constantly being launched, there is much interest in this new standard and the hardware that will support it.

Loaded with an overclocked Core 2 Extreme X6800 processor and ATI's Radeon X1900 in CrossFire dual-graphics mode, the ABS Ultimate X9 delivers nothing less than tremendous performance.

The interactive VGA Performance Charts now include 10 more graphics solutions. from ATI and Nvidia.

There has certainly been a lot of activity in the past two months, as both major graphics makers keep their products fresh while awaiting the arrival of DX10 parts.

Diamond Multimedia offers MultiView graphics cards for low-profile systems with BizView BV200 for PCI and BV300 for PCIe.

Diamond Multimedia and Viking are back in graphics. We secured Radeon X1900XTX graphics cards from both vendors to see how they stack up.

The entry forms are still coming in, and one lucky reader will be taking home the most impressive computer system we have ever had in our labs. Hitting the $10,000 mark and going beyond, this Falcon Northwest machine is loaded to the hilt and licensed to thrill!

Nvidia's GeForce 7900GS was launched as a reaction to ATI's recent product releases, and comes to the public priced at under $250.

Manufacturers are taking advantage of lower CPU power consumption to beef up laptop graphics. The iBuyPower Battalion SC-650 SLI takes the power of two GeForce Go 7800GTX' to nomadic gamers.

Many have speculated that there would be few, if any, new graphics cards before the release of DirectX 10. Think again: Nvidia released Quad SLI and now ATI launches another card family that should make gamers and enthusiasts very happy.

Two high-end PC makers put dual-core CPUs and four graphics processors into their latest systems. Who wins the Quad SLI challenge?

New beta drivers allow Quad SLI to run on two GeForce 7950GX2 cards rather than on four 7900 series cards. Is this setup a must-have for enthusiasts?

Tom's Hardware graphics presidente Polkowski is concerned about the 3D arms race. Power and heat dissipation are skyrocketing, but external graphics boxes could eliminate the imminent need for 1,000 W power supplies.

Thanks to a Tom's Forumz member, we discovered that the Cell Factor demo runs either with or without the formerly "required" PhysX accelerator card. Our tests reveal astonishing performance differences.

GeForce it is, but which model should you choose? We put mainstream and high-end models to the test to find the best seven-series graphics boards for your summer gaming sessions.
