While retailers are busy gauging prices on Intel CPUs, AMD is rearing its head with a mighty sweet, burning hot deal. The AMD Ryzen 7 3700X just hit an all-time low price of $259 on Newegg, and it comes with a free copy of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the latest murderous title set to land November 17.

AMD's Ryzen 7 3700X was already a chip we happily recommended to anyone building a gaming PC today, but this new deal makes the 8-core 16-thread chip an absolute steal.

This deal follows rumors that AMD would bundle Assasin's Creed Valhalla with the 3700X and above. And at this price, this CPU's just plain unbeatable for value shoppers. With the current 3700X pricing, you'd be silly to buy a Ryzen 5 3600XT for $249, and the Ryzen 7 3800X and 3800XT don't offer nearly the same value as the 3700X. 

AMD's Ryzen 7 3700X comes loaded with eight of its new Zen2 CPU cores and 16 threads running at a base clock of 3.6 GHz and boosting up to 4.4 GHz with good CPU cooling. Now that AMD B550 motherboards are finally making their way onto the market too, it's a great time to build a new AMD-based gaming PC.

    Here in Canada everything is overpriced, newegg.ca has the 3700X 430$+5$ shipping+15%tax=500.25$CAD. Ridiculous considering 260$ US=350$CAD, that's 150$ more.

    Check math, 430-350 is 80, not 150. Also, on PCPartsPicker, you can find it for 400 CAN$.

    The main problem for Canada is that all imported stuff normally goes through the USA for shipping so off-shore companies don't have to incur the added cost of ships specifically for Canada. With the USA border closed to most traffic until further notice, all imported stuff gets more expensive beyond just the currency exchange rate.

    They just dropped their price? I checked Amazon a couple of hours ago, it was 430. I don't know if I should buy it now or wait for it to drop when Ryzen 4000 comes out? I have an 1800X now @4Ghz and happy with it, I play at 4K60 so CPU won't make a real difference.

    Oh its still expensive, 456$CAD with taxes. I just went to Amazon.com and its 405$CAD total including shipping and import fees. I still think it will drop more when Ryzen 4000 comes out.

    I don't have a problem with waiting, still mostly happy with my i5-3470 and not particularly impressed by B550 boards at current prices.

    About time. It's been $260 at Micro Center for months now. I bet it'll drop even more once the 4700G is released. I just hope the 4700G is not initially priced much higher than the 3700X as I've been holding off purchasing a 3700X in hopes of not having to spend more $$$ on a GPU I don't need - I'm not a gamer, but need 4K resolution for coding, productivity, etc.

    Yes, $10 savings to loose PCIe4 throughput from the chipset? No thanks, that is minimal savings off an X570 board.

    However, as much as most B550 boards' VRM are overkill, most affordable X570 boards' VRM are crap. The 500-series lineup is in a really awkward state right now.

    I don't understand why almost all the vendors put the chipset fan right below the GPU PCIe slot as it is likely to block the fan. All but MSI do that on their sub$200 boards, yet MSI's temps are higher than ASUS because of its cheap PCB construction. A chipset fan won't be blocked with the 4700G without an additional GPU. I also like integrated GPU as it makes troubleshooting and rebuilding/re-configuring a system much easier although many boards these days have troubleshooting LEDs for that. The ASUS TUF B550 is only $10 cheaper than the TUF WiFi X570 board. If the non-WiFi TUF board ever comes back in stock, it would be cheaper than what the TUF B550 is priced at.
