In the CD reading tests, and especially the transfer-rate test, the superiority of the Samsung burner stood out. The slowest units were the Sony DRU-710A for transfer rate, and the Asus DRW-1640P for access time. The best audio-extraction performance was also put in by the Samsung, with an average extraction rate of 31.8x.

sasquatch451 Please report noise levels in optical drive reviews. This is a big factor in which drive to buy for some people. My current DVD burner sounds like a jet engine for 5 minutes after putting a disc in.Reply
