LSI Logic 20320R
BIOS/ Firmware: 5.02.00.
The LSI controller offers an advantage over the Adaptec - because of its small stature, it can be used in low-profile settings. The 53C1020 from LSI is used; the better-equipped versions both use the 53C1030, which is set up for dual-channel operation. The so-called Fusion MPT architecture supports this up to 100,000 I/Os per second; a maximum of 50,000 I/Os per second can be reached with the 20320R tested - enough for our requirements.
The package includes only one CD that provides drivers for all important operating systems, including DOS, Caldera Unix, RedHat and SuSe Linux, Solaris and Windows NT, XP and 2000. Windows Server 2003 includes its own suitable driver.
