Plextor PX-708A DVD±R/±RW Recorder Goes 8X

8X-Compatible DVD+R Media

To record at 8X, you must obviously have an 8X-compatible DVD+R media. But for the time being no blank DVD manufacturer does DVD+Rs of this type. Verbatim has recently announced them but none are on the shelves yet. Fortunately, there are some 4X compatible DVD media that can be recorded at 8X.

We tested seven different DVD+Rs. Some will take 8X, others start at 6X and then change to 4X or else only take 4X. There is a wide range of possibilities. Here are the results.
