The tests were run in four steps
- CD play (650 MB)
- Minimum, maximum and mean transfer rateRandom, 1/3 and full access timeAudio extraction + DAE test
- DVD play

- CD recording

The image used for recording on DVD contained several thousand files of different sizes. The tests run with a single video of the same size (4.38 GB) did not show any difference. The time taken to record a video DVD is therefore about the same as a data DVD
The DVD recording tests were done on Imation DVD-media, except for the DVD+R test, for which we used Traxdata because it is more 8X-compatible.
