Just as the WD1000 made an impression in its day, so did the twice-as-fast WD2000 model that succeeded it. The WD2000JB featured 8 MB of on-board cache as well as 7,200 RPM rotational speed. It also brought to the table a significant performance boost, even though the data transfer rate at the interface slowed down from 80 to 65 MB/s. The results indicate that this doesn't matter, however.
