Are 17" LCDs Dead?
AG NEOVO E17: A Bit Drab
This is the first time we've had our hands on an INNOLUX panel, so we were impatient to evaluate its color rendering.
It's rather good. Despite weak rendering of extreme shades; it was the opposite for very dark or very bright colors. Truly, the E17 is every bit as good as the PM17T-S.
Header Cell - Column 0 | Black Spot | White Spot | Contrast |
---|---|---|---|
AG NEOVO E17 | 0.55 | 200 | 366:1 |
A nice surprise on this AG NEOVO screen, black level was deeper than that of the ASUS PM17T-S. The brightness was no less blinding: always too bright. As a result, the contrast is acceptable and very close to that of the PM17T-S.
Contrast, let's be bit more precise.
Contrast isn't very stable, with the result that the brightness adjustment is really usable only between 40% and 100%. Outside that range the image loses its contrast.
