Are 17" LCDs Dead?
AG NEOVO E17: First Offering
During our last 19" LCD comparison, we tested the AG NEOVO X19 . The manufacturer is back again here with a first monitor offering in this end of the market; although its immaculate look wasn't intended originally for this product category. While the published latency of 16 ms is nothing extraordinary, AG NEOVO has based this monitor on the previously unknown MT170ES01 panel from INNOLUX. Well, why not?

Design And Finish
For $300 the finish is frankly beyond reproach, comparable in every way with that of the PM17T-S. The black plastics are of excellent quality. The part-metal stand gives good stability. Honestly, this brand, little known in Europe, is every bit as good as the market's heavy-hitters.
Ergonomics
The device's ergonomics are amongst the best with, in particular, a very adequate range of inclination adjustment. The OSD is easy enough to understand. There's not a lot more to say. Naturally, we can always ask for more: height adjustment, and a pivotable stand, for example. But, frankly, $300 will not buy you a gourmet meal in this product category!
Equipment
The equipment is basic enough, a VGA socket, two loud speakers of the usual quality (straight to the trash can, in other words) and an external transformer. That's it.
