Once you have the window area outlined using the fine line tape, now use the one inch masking tape to go around the outside edge of the fine line tape. (You will need to overlap the fine line tape with the masking tape just a little to prevent any of the case from being exposed.)
Lay a piece of newspaper over the entire area of the side panel. Now take your pencil and shade over the fine line tape to create a template.
As you can see in the picture below, after shading over the fine line tape you now have a good guide use to cut out the template. The reason that we want to make a template is to protect the side of the case from being scratched or marred during the cutting process.
Now follow the impression made from the fine line tape and use that as your guide to cut the template out of the newspaper. You will want to cheat this line a 1/4 to 1/2 inch to the outside to allow for taping.
