Falcon Northwest Upgrades the Mach V With AM2
Inside The Case
A 120 mm fan draws air into the case in the front to cool the Western Digital 150 GB Raptor hard drives that are configured in a RAID 0 array. Overall airflow is the key to cooling: the more air you have coming inside the case, the better. It forces the hot air out, keeping the system running smoothly.
The cooler has a life expectancy of 40,000 hours of service or 4.5 years of nonstop operation.
On the roof of the case is another large fan and radiator. It is a Sanyo Denki San Ace MC Liquid cooling solution for the CPU. It is this special cooling that allows Falcon technicians to crank up the CPU clock speeds from 2.8 GHz to 3.1 GHz.
