ATi uses different default settings in OpenGL than in Direct3D. Whereas the "Texture Preference" option is only set to "quality" in D3D, the same option is set to "high quality" in OpenGL. Since ATi's party line is that its products should be tested at the highest quality settings (quote: "Maximize quality settings in all games"), we decided to do just that and adjusted the setting accordingly.

In the standard tests, the GeForceFX cards command a clear lead over the Radeon boards. If you think this is a result of the higher texture quality setting, think again - the difference between the two settings was only 2-4 fps.
The GeForceFX 5900 Ultra is a tad bit faster than its predecessor.
