With the help of the Lame MP3 encoder, a 178 MB WAV sound file is converted into MPEG-1 Layer 3 format in Windows XP. The diagram shows that the P4/ 3066 with 84 seconds beats the AMD Athlon XP 2800+ with 90 seconds. The picture has changed yet again.
