Silent Pipe III Cooling By Gigabyte

This is the third generation Silent Pipe cooling for Gigabyte graphics cards. As you can imagine, the layout of the heat sink and the heat exchanger at the slot side of the card intends to use the CPU air flow in order to push air out to the back side of your computer.

The Silent Pipe III cooler is a behemoth.

Many people do not like passive cooling solutions because they consume a lot of space. Gigabyte has redesigned its Silent Pipe III technology, so it fits into a single PCI Express slot. There still is a heat pipe, but what Gigabyte basically did is utilizing all the available space for the cooling fins. The product we photographed is based on an Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT (GA-NX86-Y256A).

Gigabyte has also adapted its Silent Pipe 2 technology to fit ATI HD Radeon series cards. The large black cooler fits the HD 2600 series graphics cards and a smaller adaptation fits the HD 2400 series cards.
