Optical Mice: Microsoft and Logitech
Do You Really Need The Driver?
As this mouse has no feature that Windows cannot handle, you don't really need to install the driver. But if you do want to, the version supplied will cause no trouble with compatibility. The only advantage of the driver is that you can allocate the buttons better. I'll say no more on Logitech mice drivers because they are all the same.
In Use
This very simple little mouse is nonetheless very precise. It is highly responsive and never loses its head. In games and graphics applications, it is fast and aims accurately even in the highest resolutions. By the way, Logitech has given its mice bigger nylon pads so they slide better and stay clean longer. At $25 (36 Euros), it is a good reason to go optical if you haven't already done so.
