Ready For The Winter Games: ATI Radeon 9800 XT
MS Flight Simulator 2004
This is the latest version of the very popular Flight Simulator game series from Microsoft. We measured the performance of a recorded flight with takeoff from Seattle Tacoma Airport in a 737-400, climbing into the clouds and cruise over the city. Settings were Ultra High, Trilinear, Building Storms weather, and small cockpit view. We used FRAPS to measure the performance in the game.
The v44.03 driver only worked in 1024x768. The cockpit was missing at higher resolutions and the image scaled vertical to half of its size.
A clear lead for ATI in FS 2004. But the advantage of the XT over the Pro model is very very small.
