Hardly any bigger than a deskjet 5550, the psc 2110 prints in 4800 dpi, can reach 10 ppm, produces perfect photos in three minutes and, with its integrated flatbed scanner, works as a color photocopier. A complete review of the new HP all-in-one.

At last - the price of LCD screens is finally coming down! In just a few weeks, the price of the monitors tested has dropped by between 8% and 21%, especially on the best of the bunch, the Samsung 152T. The average price of the new selection is around US$400 (460 Euros)!

As the new season gets under way, many of us are wondering whether we should opt for the Canon S750, which is considered to be very fast and sparing with the ink, or for the lovely, brand new HP deskjet 5550. Or maybe the S520, which is even cheaper and barely slower than the S750. So, who will get the THG stamp of approval?

The competition can start worrying. HP has taken a technological leap forward. Out goes the PhotoRet III and in comes the PhotoRet IV with a million colors. The new Deskjet 5550 prints text perfectly, and its pictures are as good as those of the best photo printers. There are a few caveats, however...

Hercules, Iiyama, NEC, LG, Samsung and ViewSonic have entered the lists for the best 17" LCD. Hercules has focused on the design of its PV920, NEC on price, Samsung on the tuner option...

Printers and scanners blend into one - this is the multifunctional age. Lexmark, Canon and HP jostle for the leading position, but a newcomer, Brother, attempts to change all that.

Lexmark has improved on its previous performance as far as speed and functionality are concerned. The new Z65 is clearly the finest printer that this American manufacturer has ever produced. But although the Z65 beats its rivals on paper, how well does it really perform when compared to the competition? To answer this question, we compared it with the Canon S520, the Epson C70, the HP Deskjet 940, as well as the company's own Lexmark Z53.

In the first part of this review, we examined six monitors in close detail. We tested products from ADI, Compaq, CTX, NEOVO, Philips and Solarism. They are based on a variety of technologies, including TN + Film, IPS, and MVA. We especially spent a lot of time studying the ergonomics of the various models, real-time response, and the color spectrum-not forgetting the technical improvements that are expected by the end of the year.

The new generation of scanners uses all of its wiles to tempt you. Scanners have plenty of attractive selling points for 2002, and even the most modest of the bunch is happy to add a range of buttons to the front of the casing and improve the design. Scanners with the most functionality have already adopted the USB 2.0 interface, so they are able to offer spectacularly fast processing time. Others offer units for scanning slides. Yet, in spite of being very different from each other, all of these models have two important points in common: they all have 1200 dpi CCD optical detectors and cost less than $200.

In January, we tested fourteen 15" LCD monitors. Here are another six, bringing the total up to 20. Included in this batch are models from Apple, Continental Edison, Compaq, HP, NEC and Sony. Some of the improvements that we noticed were the greater contrast and even faster response times. Also, we introduce a new IPS panel test, in addition to the previous TN+Film and MVA tests. The prices are even more attractive this time around!

Canon 2002 is turning out to be even more aggressive than usual! The old S800 series has been replaced by six new printers. Two of these really stand out: the S900 and the S9000. The new series of printers still uses six cartridges, but the number of nozzles has doubled and there is a new border-free printing function. In order to be as thorough as possible, we not only compared them to the S800, but also to their rivals from Epson and HP. The following tests look at speed, quality and photo costs, in detail.

These little gems are designed to enhance their brands' image by showing off what the manufacturer can do, thereby (hopefully) attracting professionals as well as those amateurs who can afford it. And, with their ergonomics and cutting-edge technology, they certainly shine. But is what they offer really worth the extra cost?

They've finally come to a town near you - LCD displays are now available at affordable prices. Even private users have started snapping up these high-tech monitors. This recent change is no mystery, not only because the displays have improved drastically in the past year, but, in the same period of time, their prices have been cut by over 50%, as well. In this article, we'll compare 14 monitors from various manufacturers. Now including Samsung SynMaster 151MP .

Inkjet printers by the four leading manufacturers jockey for position in the $100-$300 range. They offer some attractive features, such as 20 pages per minute printing, separate cartridges, six colors and resolutions over 2400 dpi. Read on to find out the extensive results from over 20 tests, including quality, speed, cost per page and all the rest.
