This 16:10 productivity boosting 16-inch IPS portable monitor with a kickstand is just $71!
While I love the large OLED TV that I use as a monitor at home, when I'm on the go with my 14-inch laptop, I never feel like I have enough screen real estate. And while I have an older portable monitor that I picked up several years ago, it doesn't get very bright, and I hate its folding, floppy stand.
So when I saw this large 16-inch IPS screen with a 300-nit brightness rating and a built-in kickstand selling for just $71.99 on Amazon, I ordered one for myself. You might want to consider it, too as portable monitors, especially those with a kickstand, are incredibly versatile and handy devices.
Veout VE-1 16-inch portable monitor: now $71 at Amazon (was $111)
THis 16-inch IPS portable monitor sports a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a built-in kickstand, is just 0.3 inches thick and weighs 1.58 pounds. You'll want to get a case for it, but this is a great screen for productivity on the go.
As is often the case with these budget portable monitors, I have never heard of the Veout brand, but it's hard to argue with specs like 1920 x 1200 resolution, 1200:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits of brightness at this price. It's also available in four colors, but the pink and silver models do cost $1-$3 more.
Ports on the left edge are about what you'd expect: Two USB-C, Mini HDMI, audio jack (there are also built-in speakers) and controls for the OSD. The refresh rate is a fixed 60 Hz, so esports gamers may want to look elsewhere, and there's no mention of response time, so it may not be great for console gamers on the go either.
But considering this screen's 16:10 aspect ratio, it's better suited to productivity anyway. That's primarily what I expect to use mine for when it arrives. And I can't wait for it to arrive.
Samsung's Odyssey G50D IPS 27-inch QHD monitor hits an all-time low of $189
Samsung's Odyssey gaming monitors can be wildly expensive and massive in size, but this mid-range, G50D packs a nice collection of specs (IPS, HDR400, 180 Hz, FreeSync, 1440p resolution), while its 27-inch size will fit on most desks. And at its all-time low price of just $189 at Amazon, it will also fit in most gaming monitor budgets.
Samsung Odyssey G50A: now $189 at Amazon (was $349)
The Samsung Odyssey G50D Is currently available at Amazon for its lowest-ever price. It spans 27 inches across and has an IPS panel with a QHD resolution. It can reach 180 Hz and features both HDMI and DisplayPort inputs.
Its DisplayHDR rating of 400 means there is enough brightness here for HDR (if barely), and FreeSync support means your gaming will be smooth and tear-free. The 180 Hz rating seems to be native, as there is no mention of overdrive or overclocking, and the 1ms response time should be responsive enough for all but the most serious of esports gamers.
If you're after a new gaming monitor on a budget and you want a screen from one of the biggest names in the business, the Samsung Odyssey G50D is well worth considering -- especially today, when it's dropped $20 below its previous all-time low price and is available for $189.
This 180Hz 27-inch QHD gaming monitor is just $170 for a limited time
Earlier this summer, we got a chance to review a new gaming monitor from Titan Army. The P27A2R impressed us with its no-frills approach to providing most of what gamers want out of a monitor for not a lot of money.
We praised its $200 MSRP, which provides a lot of bang for the buck, but now the P27A2R is even cheaper. Best Buy currently has the P27A2R on sale for $169.99, which is a $30 savings off its usual asking price. What you get for your money is a 27-inch IPS panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 180 Hz refresh rate. Of course, the monitor is compatible with AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync, while Titan Army says that the monitor tops out at 300 nits for maximum brightness (we measured 288 nits).
Titan Army P27A2R 27-inch QHD 180Hz Gaming Monitor: now $169.99 at Best Buy (was $199.99)
The Titan Army P27A2R offers a lot of bang for the buck with a 27-inch Fast IPS QHD panel with a 180Hz refresh rate.
Despite its value-driven price, the picture quality from the P27A2R was colorful, while contrast was good for an IPS panel. We also commended color accuracy that was dialed in straight from the factory and low input lag.
Of course, when we're talking about a monitor that punches above its weight class but offers a low price tag, there will be some compromises. The build quality is good, but there is some wobble where the monitor attaches to the base. HDR is missing on the monitor, and you won't find USB ports or internal speakers. The lack of USB ports and speakers isn't an issue for me as my PC has plenty of ports, and I roll with my own speaker system (your mileage may vary).
With that said, $169 is an excellent price for the P27A2R, so if you're looking for a well-rounded gaming monitor that doesn't cost a lot, give it a try.

You can pick up a 15-inch portable monitor with a kickstand for as little as $50
Whether you're interested in a portable monitor as a second screen for your laptop, console gaming on the go, or you want a smaller second (or third, or fourth) monitor for your desktop, now is a great time to buy one.
There's also this model from Arzopa that's $63 and includes a kickstand (a feature you really want because the typical cover stands are a floppy, fiddly pain to use). But if you're aiming to spend even less, this WGK model is now on sale at Amazon for just $49, and it also includes a kickstand!
WGK W156F1 portable monitor: was $83 at Amazon, now $49
This 15.6-inch matte IPS screen sports a 1080p resolution, two USB-C ports, Mini HDMI, plus a built-in kickstand and two screw holes on the back for VESA mounting.
WGK says this is a matte screen, and while I couldn't find a brightness rating, most of the reviewers on Amazon seem happy with the amount of light the screen puts out. The monitor also has built in speakers, but don't expect them to be good, and definitely disregard the company's claims of surround sound and HDR.
At 50 bucks, don't expect this screen to hang with the best portable monitors, but if you're looking for a second screen on the cheap for occasional productivity or gaming on the go, this WGK looks to be a great deal.
$199 can get you a 4.5-star 27-inch 4K 160Hz Mini LED monitor for Cyber Monday, but you might want to act fast
The last thing I need is another monitor, but even I'm tempted by this deal. Amazon's Woot is currently selling a 27-inch 4K Mini LED monitor with 160 Hz with a 600-nit brightness rating for an incredibly low $199. But act fast if you want one because that's $100 lower than its current sale price at Amazon, and a stunning 75% off its MSRP! This is the best monitor deal, and maybe the best deal overall, that I've seen so far this deals season.
Cooler Master Tempest GP27U: now $199 at Woot (was $799)
The Tempest GP27U is a premium 27-inch IPS gaming screen with Mini LED backlighting, HDR1000, 160 Hz refresh and FreeSync / G-Sync support. It's rated to cover 98% of the DCI-P3 color space.
We tested the Tempest GP27U in 2023 and gave it a 4.5 star rating, noting its "razor-sharp image with high contrast and vivid color" and "huge color gamut." The Mini LED backlight gives you 576 local dimming zones, upping the contrast, helped by up to 1200 nits of beak brightness in HDR mode.
The only real downside our reviewer noticed is that you can't use variable refresh above 144 Hz. When we tested it, the GP27U was one of the first Mini LED screens under $1,000. I think it's pretty safe to say today that it's the only Mini LED gaming monitor you can buy for under $200. But I wouldn't sit on this deal if you want one. At 75% off MSRP, the stock on this steal of a deal won't likely last long.
Arzopa’s 15.6-inch 1080p portable monitor includes an integrated kickstand and now costs just $64
The portable monitor space has become highly competitive in the past few years. What was once a niche market with few credible options for consumers has exploded in popularity with many options. From value-focused 1080p panels to 300+ Hz gaming screens to dual-panel options, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the best portable monitors. The Arzopa A1 is currently on sale for $63.99 (down from $79.99) for folks looking for something skewed more toward the value side.
While we haven’t specifically reviewed the A1, we did review Arzopa’s G1 portable gaming monitor, and were impressed with its overall build and value. The A1 isn’t as ambitious an offering, as it comes with a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a mainstream 60 Hz refresh rate. The IPS panel sports 178-degree viewing angles and has a glossy screen finish. The glossy finish can help make colors seem to “pop” a bit more on the screen, but it also tends to enhance reflections, so keep that in mind before you hop on this deal.
Arzopa A1 1080p Portable Monitor: now $63.99 at Amazon (was $79.99)
The Arzopa A1 is a value-priced 1080p portable monitor with an IPS panel and an integrated kickstand.
The A1 also has something that we really look for in a portable monitor: an integrated stand. Many portable monitors use an origami case that doubles as a stand, which is often cumbersome. The A1 features a simple one-legged kickstand that pops out from the back of the unit. The kickstand is adjustable up to 80 degrees to find the optimum viewing angle for your needs.
Regarding connectivity, the A1 has you covered with a mini-HDMI port and two USB-C ports. That port arrangement should cover just about any device that can output to a display, including laptops, desktops, smartphones, tablets, and even portable gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch.
Finally, the A1 makes a perfect travel companion because despite its generous 15.6-inch screen size, it weighs just 1.6 pounds. And with a maximum width of 0.35 inches, it should easily slip into a briefcase, backpack, or laptop bag.

LG's UltraGear 45-inch Curved OLED gaming monitor is now $700 off at Best Buy
Part of Best Buy's Cyber Monday offerings, this deal on a large curved gaming monitor, pairs the latest OLED technology, with an attractive design and great specs. If you take a trip to Best Buy's website, you can find the 45-inch LG UltraGear OLED curved gaming monitor for $ 999, a saving of $700 from the original $1,699 MSRP.

LG UltraGear OLED 45-inch curved gaming monitor: now $999 at Best Buy (was $1,699)
Featuring a large 800R curved 45-inch OLED panel, the LG UltraGear monitor is a rather large gaming screen with a WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and superfast 240Hz refrest rate. Being an OLED display the response times are very low with a 0.03ms response time. This monitor is certified HDR 400 and compatible with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.
Housed in a black chassis the LG UltraGear is sleek for a massive 45-inch screen, has thin bezels, an 800R curvature, and a sturdy stand. The monitor includes speakers and has connectivity for both PC and game consoles with the inclusion of 1x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI ports and 1x USB-C port.
This is still an expensive monitor but it's a good drop in price from the original MSRP and although you can certainly pick up larger OLED television screens for a lot less, you won't find the same high refresh rates or PC connectivity.
